Breakfast
The most important meal of the day! Breakfast gives your body the fuel it needs to get your day started. You wouldn't expect your car to drive without any petrol, but it is surprising how many of us expect our bodies to perform in peak condition when you haven't eaten for more than 12 hours!

Salads
Salads can be a great side dish or a main meal in itself. And YES, there is much, much more to a salad than lettuce and cherry tomatoes!

Vegetables
Steer away from high carb vegies such as potato, corn and beetroot; and eat lots of colourful vegies like broccoli, capsicum, zucchini, spinach, mushrooms and asparagus!

Eggs & Cheese
Eggs are a perfect little pint-sized package of hunger busting protein! Always keep a few hard boiled eggs in the fridge for a simple and satisfying snack. Cheese adds so much flavour to any meal - crumbled feta over a salad or steamed vegies, melted cheese on your broccoli and cauliflower...the possibilities are endless!

Chicken
Chicken is the meat of choice for many low carbers because it is tasty, versatile and easy to prepare. Chicken is great in appetisers, soups, salads and main dishes. It also has significant quantities of nutrients such as zinc, iron, phosphorous, magnesium, riboflavin, thiamin and niacin.

Fish
Fish is a great source of protein that is high in healthy Omega-3 fatty acids. Fresh fish should have a moist and shiny skin with bright and even colouring, firm flesh that bounces back when touched, crystal clear eyes and a fresh smell. If good quality fresh fish isn't available, buy it frozen.

Meat
Another terrific source of protein, red meat is filling and very versatile. Think steaks, stews, curries, stir-fry's, roasts, BBQ's, grills...the possibilities are endless!
